A couple weeks ago, I had the honor of taking Anna’s tenth birthday photos. Since Anna is one of my first cousins, this session was extra special to me. I remember when Uncle Eric and Aunt Cindy announced that they were expecting, I remember the excitement I felt leading up to her arrival and how it seemed to take forever, and I remember seeing her in the hospital right after she was born. It’s crazy how fast the time has passed and that she just celebrated her tenth birthday.

Look how cute she is! While editing this session, I couldn’t help but think about how I’ve watched Anna grow and change throughout the years. Although I can’t help but feel a little sad at times because I wish she was still my precious newborn baby cousin, I am so proud of who she is becoming. She is truly growing into a beautiful young lady, and I can’t wait to see how God uses her in the years to come.

One of the things I enjoyed the most about this session was being able to capture Anna’s personality and create images that show who she really is. Watching her dance around and be herself while we were taking these pictures was such a great experience. I think it will be great to look back at these photos in the years to come as her personality changes and she grows up. I’m so proud of who she’s becoming, but I’m also thankful that these photos exist and that we’ll never forget her precious face and personality at this age.

As you scroll through this gallery, I not only hope that you see the personality that I see, but I also hope that you will begin to understand why I love milestone sessions so much. Documenting your children at every stage in their lives is such a beautiful thing, and it is so important. Watching them grow and change over the years is amazing, but once they are fully grown, you will want to look back through old scrapbooks and photo albums to remember the little pieces of their personalities that they grew out of, how tiny they were, the clothes they wore, and every detail of their appearances. I believe every milestone is worth remembering, and I hope you do, too.
