If we haven't met yet, I'm Ivy! I'm a wedding and senior photographer based in East Tennessee. I hope you'll relax, grab a cup of coffee (or a baja blast), and enjoy seeing my latest work, as well as getting an inside look at my life!
This is Sam, and I have the honor of calling him my first Class of 2019 Senior! We did his session at the end of June, and today I have some time to blog about it. Before I dive into the details of this session I want to tell you all a little bit more about Sam. He runs track at Sequoyah High School, and he’ll be graduating in May of 2019. He’s not decided on a certain college yet, but I think we’re all hoping he’ll get a track scholarship somewhere! When I was talking to him about his plans for the future, he said he was considering majoring in business or communications – two really good majors, if I do say so myself. We had quite the adventure at his session! The forecast was calling for rain at the original time we had scheduled, so we moved his session to an earlier time in order to avoid the rain. Or so we thought.
Not too long after we started shooting, we felt some raindrops begin to fall. It wasn’t a torrential downpour or anything, but it was enough to make me think on my feet. We ended up walking on a wooded trail, where the tree cover was thick enough to block the rain from hitting us. Believe it or not, it’s raining in all the trail photos, but you can’t really tell! We were pretty much in the clear as long as we stayed in the woods. For a few of the pictures, we decided to just brave the rain (because sometimes you just roll with the punches, ya know?) Fort Loudon has a few spots we were able to use where Sam was sheltered from the rain, and in some other shots we just embraced it. We actually had a lot of fun making the best of this rainy session, and I’m really proud of the shots we got. These are just a FEW of my favorites!
One of the best things about senior sessions is being able to just have fun with my clients and show off their personalities… I’d say we definitely did that at Sam’s session!
Sam, I hope your senior year is your best year yet! Cherish this last year of ballgames, track meets, pep rallies, and hanging out with all your friends. This year is the time to make memories that you’ll carry with you as you walk into the future. I pray you make some great ones!
