If we haven't met yet, I'm Ivy! I'm a wedding and senior photographer based in East Tennessee. I hope you'll relax, grab a cup of coffee (or a baja blast), and enjoy seeing my latest work, as well as getting an inside look at my life!
You guys, this couple. Where do I even begin? Their love for one another is so evident – in the way that they look at each other, interact with one another, support one another, just everything. I was so honored not only to witness them “tying the knot” but to have the incredible responsibility of capturing the day! They are truly made for each other. I even found myself tearing up when they were saying their vows! The way that they spoke to one another just radiated a selfless love. A love like the love Christ has for the church. And I have no other words to describe their union other than God-ordained. Which sounds cheesy, but it’s actually so sincere, in every sense of the term. And a God-ordained marriage is truly something to celebrate! I can’t wait to see how God uses these two in the future as they live and grow and serve together. They both have hearts for caring for Creation, and I enjoy reading Ridge’s Facebook posts about the beauty of the environment God created for us – and how we can care for it better. Ridge’s love and care for Creation was one of the things Chloe said she loved most about him when they said their vows (cue the tears). They recently moved to Georgia, where Ridge will pursue a Masters’ Degree, and I am so excited to watch their journey together unfold. So without further ado, here are some of my favorite images from their day. I hope you fall in love with them as much as I have.
Of course we have to start with the first look. Ridge’s face just lit up when he saw Chloe, and I’m so happy they chose to do a first look because it gave them time to talk and just enjoy being together without being interrupted. They had a few minutes entirely to themselves, and I silently snapped away as they talked to each other before we started their portraits. I’m so glad they can have these images of their time together before they officially became man and wife because this was such a special moment.
One of my favorite moments is when everyone prays over the couple’s marriage – and Ridge + Chloe’s time of prayer was no exception. I love this image because when things get hard or when they just need a reminder of God’s love and care, they can look back and remember that everyone who shared in their wedding celebration prayed over them then, and people are praying over them still. God was with them then, and He always will be. What joy we can all find in that truth!
I love these images of Ridge + Chloe literally “tying the knot”, but I loved what the minister said even more. “If a chord of three strands is not easily broken, surely a knot like this will stand the test of time” (Okay, maybe not his exact words, but it was something to that effect and it really resonated with me. Hopefully you get the idea, haha).
And we now pronounce them… officially man + wife!
Now, allow us all to just collectively admire the beautiful bride that Chloe was AND how gorgeous her dress was!
Oh, and also her hair. That braid is what every little girl’s wedding day dreams are made of.
Now, let’s move on to the reception. My personal favorite part? The pie, of course! If I’m being honest, prepare for pie picture overload. I don’t know, maybe they were just the most photogenic pies ever?
When Lake gave his best man speech, everyone definitely experienced allll the emotions, from laughter to tears. But the words he said about his brother were so special – everyone could feel the love. Just from hearing that speech, you would know that those two have a bond that simply cannot be broken. And you could feel how happy Lake was for his brother! Look at Ridge’s reactions – this moment was just so priceless!
And so when all the dancing and laughing came to an end, their guests cheered and celebrated with them as they began their very own happily ever after.
Ridge and Chloe,
Thank you so much for letting me play such a special part in celebrating your marriage. I wish you two every happiness, and I truly cannot wait to see where life takes you. I am so grateful I had the privilege of telling your love story and sharing it with the world. I know no words are adequate enough to describe you, and none could ever do your love story justice, but I do hope that these images and words are something you can carry with you as a reminder of how loved and celebrated you are – and that you belong together.
Love,
Ivy
