If we haven't met yet, I'm Ivy! I'm a wedding and senior photographer based in East Tennessee. I hope you'll relax, grab a cup of coffee (or a baja blast), and enjoy seeing my latest work, as well as getting an inside look at my life!
Okay, so y’all are going to think I’m CRAZY because I photographed this South Carolina wedding in February and I’m just now blogging it! But there’s a reason: My blog has essentially been dead since last summer. I basically forgot it existed. I’ve been working and photographing a lot, but I used school as an excuse to stop blogging. So now I am waaaay behind on updating the blog.
The good news is that since I’m way behind, y’all are hopefully going to see lots of posts in the coming weeks! I’ve photographed some of my favorite weddings & seniors yet over the past year, and those photos deserve to live here on the blog! I am so blessed with the most amazing clients, and because of them, I’m able to consistently create work that I am proud of! So without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to two of the sweetest people ever!!
Rebekah + Evan were married in a beautiful, intimate ceremony on February 23 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. They met and fell in love while they were students at Lee University, where they were both members of Kingdom Players, Delta Zeta Tau, and Upsilon Xi! I have had the privilege of not only knowing them both for a couple of years but also sharing the club Delta Zeta Tau with them!
Evan + Rebekah are quite honestly two of the sweetest people I have ever known, and I admire them both for their faith and their willingness to live out God’s calling on their lives. They have devoted their lives to ministry, and their love for Christ is so evident not only in their individual lives but in their relationship with one another. Their wedding was only proof of that! Evan + Rebekah’s joyful hearts shine through all of these photos, and I still can’t look at these pictures without smiling! Here are just a FEW of my favorite images from their day!
I’ve gotten so many pictures lately of brides looking at their dresses in the downtime before it’s time to get dressed. I think it’s such a sweet moment to capture, soaking it all in! Rebekah’s dress was beautiful. I mean, look at that lace detail!
A first look with your bridesmaids is always a “yes” in my book!!
AND a first look with dad!
But this first look . . . this is my favorite. Evan’s reaction to seeing Rebekah was so sweet!!
I love the first look for so many reasons, but primarily for the fact that it gives couples a private moment alone just before they get married. Evan + Rebekah have some really cute candids from their moment – some of the sweetest images of the whole day!
After the first look, we officially started their wedding portraits! This day was super laid-back, so we actually had enough time to take some before and after the ceremony, which was super nice because they got double the pictures!! The bride + groom’s portraits are always my favorite part of the wedding day, so I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!
Someone pinch me. I still can’t believe I was the photographer for a wedding on the beach in South Carolina. And not just any wedding. Evan + Rebekah’s wedding!
Then we moved right along to their individual portraits. It was SO hard to pick favorites from this section because they’re both so photogenic!
Of course, I had to grab some detail shots during solo portrait time too!
Evan was such a handsome groom!!
And can we talk about how GORGEOUS Rebekah is?! She looked stunning!!
The image of Rebekah on the right will always be one of my favorites!! Throughout her bridal portraits, she would start posing and say she was “having a moment.” Her “moments” were definitely frame-worthy! She rocked her bridal portraits!
The windblown look of the beach was also perfect for her veil!!
Okay, just one more… Rebekah, you’re so beautiful.
The wedding party was tons of fun too! I’m not gonna lie. It was a cold and windy day at the beach. But we all powered through and got some awesome wedding pictures! Despite the weather, it was still the best day!! And I will always love cloudy days like this for portraits. 🙌🏼
Now on to the ceremony!! I loved Evan + Rebekah’s ceremony. It was so simple, yet elegant, and so Christ-centered at the same time. . . Much like their marriage is, I’m sure!
The stages of the kiss!!
They’re officially MARRIED!
This picture may not seem like much to you, but after the ceremony, Emily + I saw Evan putting sand in this bottle and asked him why. He said, “I wrote Bekah a letter and I put sand in it from the spot where we got married.” Y’ALL. I’M CRYING.
Aaaand a few more portraits because why not?!
10/10 recommend a beach wedding. 10/10 recommend a South Carolina wedding. Why? You get photos like these!!
Because when else will you ever get the chance to dance barefoot on the beach in a wedding dress with the love of your life??
These two literally look like they belong on a movie poster.
Evan + Rebekah, thank you SO MUCH for allowing me to travel to Hilton Head to photograph your wedding! It was such a beautiful day, and I hope you’ve enjoyed reliving it through this post. I pray that God continues to bless your marriage and that you fall more and more in love with one another each and every day!!
Love,
Ivy
