If we haven't met yet, I'm Ivy! I'm a wedding and senior photographer based in East Tennessee. I hope you'll relax, grab a cup of coffee (or a baja blast), and enjoy seeing my latest work, as well as getting an inside look at my life!
Brittany + Tanner had a beautiful wedding at Riverbend Farms in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, last week! After spending the past few months getting to know them, I felt like I was photographing two of my friends getting married. Their day was full of joy, summer sunshine, and so many personal touches! In a way, I’m sad their wedding is over because. I won’t get to photograph it again. But I am so happy for these two and so excited to relive their day via this blog post!
Brittany’s abuelita gave her this rosary the last time they saw one another. To have a piece of her great-grandmother with her on her wedding day, Brittany carried this rosary in her pocket. I may or may not have cried while just photographing it.
Brittany and her bridesmaids were really looking forward to doing a champagne pop photo with the bottle everyone had signed at Brittany’s bridal shower! Brittany actually sprayed the champagne around like a lasso, but this was its final splash and I love the way it’s splattering everywhere!
Brittany’s family worked so hard to help make her day perfect. Her mom seemed to always be working on something leading up to the ceremony. I’m so glad she was able to take some time just to spend with Brittany in the bridal suite, helping her put the final touches on her look.
I’ll always be a fan of the moment a dad sees his daughter in her dress for the first time. Brittany’s dad was so sweet. 😭 Just wait till you see their dance photos! I could literally feel the love when editing.
These bridesmaids are so supportive of their girl! She looked amazing, and their reactions to seeing her just further prove that! Also — this couch on the porch at Riverbend Farms is becoming one of my favorite spots for photos.
Moment of silence to appreciate this STUNNING bride.
Can you believe these flowers came from Food City?! I have to give a shoutout to Abigail and Mary at the Food City in Seymour – they did an amazing job! And the colors were beautiful together.
Brittany had a junior bridesmaid and Tanner had two junior groomsmen! What a sweet way to include younger family members like nieces and nephews in the wedding party!
When I came up to take pictures of Tanner and his groomsmen, I could instantly see how happy he was that his wedding day was finally here! Just look at his smile and you can tell – it’s completely genuine. This day was truly long-awaited, and it was beautiful to be a part of the happiness every single person shared!
Brittany and her sweet flower girl both had beautiful bows on the backs of their dresses!
All the smiles and the excitement! This is a true representation of all the love and support their bridal party showed!
A wedding at Riverbend Farms typically promises mountain views… but this beautiful tree is one of the farm’s hidden treasures! Brittany and Tanner opted for a ceremony under the tree with elegant white drapery, and I love the way it turned out.
Brittany’s dad gave her the sweetest kiss on the cheek before giving her away.
Brittany and Tanner each prepared something special to say to each other at their ceremony. Their words elicited both laughter and tears from everyone present!
After a magical ceremony, we had some magical portrait time! Could they BE any more stunning?!
Then it was time to head into the reception for food, drinks, and dancing! Riverbend Farms’ 100-year-old barn provides an incredible atmosphere for all of the above!
Tanner’s mom made their wedding cake! I had never seen the layers separated out like this before, and it was a picture-perfect display! She did an incredible job.
First dances will forever be my favorite! I am going to pre-apologize for all the black and whites you’re about to see. Capturing emotion is so important to me, and creating black and white images helps focus on emotion instead of all the other aspects of the photo!
Brittany is one of the most kind-hearted people I’ve ever met! She selflessly chose to surprise her sister by sharing her first dance with her dad. This was one of the sweetest moments of the day! I’ve never seen anyone do this before. Not only did it give her sister a special time with their dad, but Brittany was able to take some time to dance with her mom during the parent dances too!
Tanner’s dance with his mom was pretty much all-smiles. I loved seeing them laugh their way through this sweet moment! You could tell how much they love each other.
The party started and we snuck out for a few more portraits – You can’t quite have a Riverbend Farms wedding without getting some photos on the dock with the mountain view! 😍
Remember Abuelita’s rosary that Brittany carried all day? Here she is showing it to her grandfather.
Sparkler exits are my JAM! This one was so fun, and I absolutely love the way the photos came out!
And with that, they headed off to Yosemite for what was sure to be an incredible honeymoon! Brittany and Tanner, thank you so much for trusting me to capture your wedding day. You are two beautiful people, inside and out. I am so thankful I have gotten the chance to know you! I am praying you have a blessed life together.
