If we haven't met yet, I'm Ivy! I'm a wedding and senior photographer based in East Tennessee. I hope you'll relax, grab a cup of coffee (or a baja blast), and enjoy seeing my latest work, as well as getting an inside look at my life!
Bre + Cody had the most beautiful & Christ-filled fall barn wedding last weekend at Riverbend Farms! I first met them a little over a year ago when I took their engagement photos at East Tennessee Nursery. Immediately, it was evident to me how much they loved each other. I couldn’t have imagined it would become even more obvious that they were made for one another… but then their wedding day happened. Throughout the day, I heard so much about how God had worked in their individual lives to prepare them for one another. They have clearly made him the center of their lives & the center of their relationship. I know they will thrive together!
On a lighter note, you’ll find this post is FULL of fall barn wedding inspo if you have been looking! The details section will give you a little taste of what’s to come!
Brides, take notes! Bre put some loose pieces of leaves, florals, greenery, and a little piece of her pumpkin decor in the details bag she gave me upon my arrival. This helped me style her invitation suite & other details even MORE authentically. Definitely an easy way to elevate the look of your detail photos if that’s important to you!
Now, for getting ready photos! I want to give a HUGE shoutout to my second shooter for this wedding, Alayna Tweed, for photographing the groomsmen at the cabin!
Just a sweet thing I noticed when I was reading the metadata from these photos… The photo I took of Bre’s mom buttoning up her dress was taken within a minute of the photo Alayna took of Cody’s mom pinning on his boutonniere. They were putting the finishing touches on their looks at the same time. That’s just so sweet to me. 😭
Also… Cody hugging his mom before he headed to the venue. TEARS upon tears upon tears.
Mother-daughter getting ready shots are always some of my favorites! Oh, and Bre had three fun first looks coming up next. First – bridesmaids!
Then a first look with her dad and step-mom. ♥️
Then one with her step-dad. ♥️
Meanwhile, at the cabin…
I think you’ll agree when you look through these – what a GORGEOUS wedding party!
Solo portrait time! Bridal portraits are always so fun. I wish they could last all day, honestly. Bre looked stunning!
And Cody looked great in his portraits too!
Ceremony time! Cody and his best man, Josh, walked to the front of the aisle together. When they turned to face the crowd, they took off their sunglasses and Cody said, “Let’s get started.” Such a fun way to begin the ceremony!
If you don’t cry looking at Cody’s reaction to his almost-wife walking to meet him at the front of the aisle…are you ok? One of the sweetest reactions I have ever seen!
Bre’s step-dad met her and her dad halfway down the aisle to join in giving her away. How sweet is that!
Instead of a traditional unity ceremony, Bre + Cody opted for foot-washing. I love this and everything it symbolizes. Foot-washing points back to John 13, when Jesus washes the feet of his disciples. I won’t go into all of the details – but this is a beautiful display of humility and servanthood. What an amazing way to show their commitment to one another.
They wrote their own vows… which also had me holding back tears at times.
Alayna got some super sweet photos of Bre + Cody interacting just after they made their way down the aisle as a married couple. And a sweet shot of Bre and her mom right after the ceremony, too! ♥️
Finally time for newlywed portraits!
Can we just stop to appreciate the clouds reflecting on the water? Ok. Thank you.
A true gentleman holds the train of his bride’s dress as they walk to their next portrait location!
I’m so glad we walked over to this spot… the mountains looked phenomenal on this day. 😍 And Bre… you are BEAUTIFUL!
After portraits, it was time for the party to officially begin! Before we look at those photos, take a look at their beautiful fall-themed barn wedding reception setup!
Let’s get this party started!
Starting the evening off right with their first dance.
Now time for parent dances!
Aaaand the dancefloor officially opens!
This dance look familiar to anyone? “When the sun goes down on my side of town…”
Yet another TikTok dance that I do not know the moves for, but these bridesmaids had it!
Bre + Cody had one of the most unique exits I think I have seen. Their guests had LED-lit balloons they waved as the newlyweds walked by! I truly LOVED these!
After Bre + Cody ran through the tunnel, their guests released their balloons. They really lit up the night sky!
And that’s a wrap! I hope you enjoyed reliving this fall barn wedding with me. And Bre + Cody – I hope you had an AMAZING time in Cancun! I am praying God’s blessings over you as you begin your new journey together as husband and wife.
