If we haven't met yet, I'm Ivy! I'm a wedding and senior photographer based in East Tennessee. I hope you'll relax, grab a cup of coffee (or a baja blast), and enjoy seeing my latest work, as well as getting an inside look at my life!
I was so excited when Kayla told me she wanted engagement photos in the Knoxville sunflower field! I hadn’t been in about four years – which is kinda crazy now that I think about it. Now that I am living in Knoxville though, I hope I’ll be able to visit this field more often in the summer! We honestly lucked out that the date Kayla and Chandler wanted to do engagement photos happened to fall during the right season. Sunflowers typically only bloom for a few weeks out of the year. For the Knoxville sunflower field, this is usually the month of July. When I was planning this session, I even read on one site that they only bloom here during odd-numbered years! Some of the flowers had already started to wilt by our session on July 17, but we still got some beautiful blooms in our images!
Y’all, these two are a DREAM to work with! We laughed and smiled throughout the whole session, and I truly can feel their joy and love for one another in every single photo. They met all because one of Chandler’s friends gave him Kayla’s number – and the rest is history. The day of their engagement session was actually quite celebratory for more than one reason! After seven months of long-distance (from Indiana to Tennessee), they finally lived in the same city! Chandler moved to Knoxville the morning of their photoshoot. For the past seven months, they had spent many weekends traveling back and forth to see each other and spend time with one another’s families. Now, they’re together at last – and they’ll be married in a little over a month! I feel all the excitement and joy of this season in their lives when I look at these images. 💛
That ring is a STUNNER. Great job Chandler! 👏🏻
Some backstory for this next one – Chandler told me how important their faith was to both him and Kayla. So he asked if we could take some photos of them praying. My heart. As if I needed a reason to love these two more! 🥺
I forgot to mention, it rained all afternoon and cleared up just in time for their session. God was really looking out for us! By the end of the session, the sun even started to peek out from the clouds for us. Finally!
I had to throw this one in – Chandler picked up this sunflower, held it over their heads, and called it ‘summer mistletoe.’ They are cute and sweet AND funny!
My heart can’t handle the cuteness! Knoxville sunflower field + the sunshine just after a rain + a beautiful couple? I must be in photographer heaven.
Kayla and Chandler, thank you for spending an evening exploring the Knoxville sunflower field with me! It may have been hot outside, but getting to know you two and capturing these stunning images made it all worth it. I am so excited about your wedding in September! See you so so soon. ♥️
