If we haven't met yet, I'm Ivy! I'm a wedding and senior photographer based in East Tennessee. I hope you'll relax, grab a cup of coffee (or a baja blast), and enjoy seeing my latest work, as well as getting an inside look at my life!
Delaney + Brady planned an outdoor mountain ceremony, but the weather had other plans. Their rainy barn wedding, however, was still absolutely stunning! Every detail of this day was intentional and full of character. As every wedding should be! I’m so excited to share these photos with you – and show you how much love and beauty we found in the midst of a dreary, rainy day.
Looking at the details, you’ll probably notice one of the most FUN pairs of bridal shoes you’ve ever seen in your life! Also one of the cutest, most modern invitation suites I think I’ve photographed! I loved that their RSVP card read “Say yes” on the back. How. Stinkin’. Precious.
And yes, you’re seeing this right. Delaney’s veil is blush. I’ve never seen a dress + veil pairing quite like this one… and it worked out beautifully!
The earrings you see in all these detail photos are the same earrings that Delaney’s mom and grandmother wore on their respective wedding days. What a precious family heirloom. 😭♥️
When the only dry place is the porch…. you learn your way around the porch & get as many different porch looks as possible. No risking a muddy dress on this rainy barn wedding day!
These guys braved the rain to recreate an old picture 😂
First look 🥺😭
What you see in this picture: pretty couple, pretty mountains, pretty pond. What you don’t see: tiny raindrops falling everywhere, trash bag hidden under the train to prevent picking up any mud, umbrellas ready to be deployed in the event of a downpour…. BUT WAS IT WORTH IT? YES.
Just a friendly reminder that having a backup indoor plan for an outdoor ceremony is so important! Thankfully, when this outdoor mountain wedding became a rainy barn wedding day – the venue and vendors knew just what to do!
Oh, they MARRIED married!
I know you’re enjoying these reception photos, but let me take a break to inform you that this was the most popular groom’s cake I have ever photographed. It was gone in a flash, so I just have to acknowledge this amazing work by Smoky Mountain Mason Jar!
At the end of the day, the rain finally cleared and we were able to go out with a bang! The ‘bang’ being sparklers… I’d say they count as a bang since they’re a relative of fireworks, right? But really – I think these pictures perfectly capture the joy this wedding day was FULL of! Rebecca, the venue owner, described Delaney as a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day…. and I agree. I would describe this wedding in the same way. Delaney + Brady, thank you so much for trusting me to capture these memories for you. I am so honored & grateful to serve couples like you for my job!
Praying you share a lifetime of happiness,
Ivy
